Creating a Life Motto

Motto (from www.dictionary.com): a short sentence or phrase chosen to encapsulate the beliefs or ideals guiding an individual, family, or institution.
Do you know...
Why you exist?
Who you are?
What you're about?
Who you want to become?
From where you came?
Where you are now?
Where you want to go?
These are really important questions to ask and answer for yourself. At different points in my life, I've spent considerable time working through them. Doing this kind of work has helped me craft my own set of "I exist..." statements. Together, they comprise the overarching mission of my life. This work has enabled me, too, to discover who I am and the person I dream of becoming one day...the person I'm becoming intentionally by pursuing daily the future (or vision) I "see" with my mind's eye. Even more, this work has enabled me to create my own life motto, which reads as follows:
Resting in God, abiding in Him, delighting in Him, yielding to Him; rejoicing in Him always; giving thanks in all circumstances; honoring His creation; and radiating His loving-kindness, goodwill, and good cheer to everyone and everything within the realm of my influence and existence.
Yep, that's it.
There's nothing superfluous or grandiose or anything of the sort contained therein. There's nothing missing either—at least for me! It's a statement of restful desire as well as ultimate vulnerability. Every time I recite it, I feel this light and airy feeling inside that inspires me to drop all falseness and vain striving and to just relax into my own personhood as a beloved son of God Almighty. Frankly, it's a really good feeling.
The above is not in any way my attempt to elevate myself above anyone. For I believe I will never be more (or better) than anyone else. In the same way, I'll never be less. The same is true for you.
So, what about you? What are you about? Who do you want to become? Begin today to ask and answer those questions; and begin working, too, on creating a life motto for yourself.
God bless you in this very important work...
