The Song of the Servant

Years ago, after reading Hinds Feet on High Places (by Hannah Hurnard), I crafted and committed to memory the following song for myself:

Behold, O Shepherd, Thy servant: Acceptance-with-joy, Bearing-the-cost, and Self-controlled-by-love. How happy it is to be the fragrance of love's flower.

Love does not consider not being loved in return that big of a deal. Love just loves for the sake of loving the beloved. Love just forgives because that's what love is.
