Romans 8:23 Meditation

Text (Ro 8:23, NIV):
“Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.”
Amplified Rendering:
And we also, being a part of creation, struggle intensely with the consequences of the fall. But our struggle is not just outwardly, for we, being self-aware, understand it's our fault creation suffers as it does. In our inner-most thoughts, we wrestle against current realities and how they differ with how we know (or believe) things should be (or how we think they would have been had we never turned from God in the first place). In Christ, we have hope: the final reconciliation of everything and the ceasing of this struggle. The Holy Spirit lives inside us as a down-payment of what's to come: When physical death removes from us completely the corruptible so we might finally be clothed in the incorruptible as God's redeemed and fully remade and repurposed sons and daughters. Oh, what a day that will be! Until then, we wait in hope.

Consecrated Prayer:
Holy Father…
I long for the day when I see You as You are and finally experience myself as You've intended me to be since before creation.
In the Name of Jesus, I declare and thank You for these things…
Amen.
