Romans 8:26 Meditation

Text (Ro 8:26, NIV):

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”

Amplified Rendering:

Just as we travail inwardly, awaiting with great difficulty the Day of our final redemption, so also the Spirit of God, who lives in us and who was given us as a deposit for the things to come, groans in ways that cannot be conveyed through language. In this groaning, He suffers on our behalf that the Father might grant us the healing our mental and physical infirmities require. Because we're so limited and hampered by our fallenness, we often know not what or even how to pray. Thanks be to God, though! As mysterious as it is, God Himself, through the Holy Spirit's Presence within us, fills our vacated gaps and pleads for us night and day.

Consecrating Prayer:

Holy Father…

I yield to the Spirt's Presence in my heart. May everything He longs for me to have and experience be granted.

In the Name of Jesus, I ask these things...
