Romans 8:28 Meditation

Text (Ro 8:28, NIV):

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Amplified Rendering:

Through eyes that now see, we discern how everything—every experience, every word that's spoken, every baffling wind that blows, every dispute, every deed (whether meant for good or bad), every attack upon our hearts, and every narration (whether evil or godly)—works to fulfill God's ordained purposes for all humanity, us as individuals, and the whole of creation. Cooperatively, such experiences create within our souls an enduring fitness that enables us to abide more steadfastly in the lovingkindness of the Father and to live out the roles He's appointed us uniquely in His Epic Story of creation. This, my brothers and sisters, has become our perspective on everything. It's why we so rarely lose heart; and it's why, when we do lose heart, we recover it so quickly.

Consecrated Prayer:

Holy Father…

Continue to use everything that happens throughout the world to manifest Your goodness. Write Your Story upon my heart; help me see what my roles are; and, of course, may everything I experience mold and strengthen my heart for Your greater use and enjoyment.

In the Name of Jesus, I ask You these these things...

Amen.
