Romans 8:32 Meditation

Text (Ro 8:32, NIV):

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

Amplified Rendering:

How could He who refused to deliver His Son from the torment that awaited Him, not give us what He's said is duly ours through covenant relationship with Him? Indeed, even before the foundations of the earth were laid, the Father delivered up His Son to experience the very alienation and death we deserved(1). He did this for the express purpose of setting us free(2): free from the effects and affects of sin; free to love, enjoy, and serve Him, His purposes, and His people forever. Given all this, and given He didn't even spare Himself or His Son whom He loved ineffably, how could He not give us everything He's promised? Again, given all He's done already, how could He not enable us to experience the full extent (the joy and everlasting benefits) of His presence in our lives and His lovingkindness toward us?

Consecrated Prayer:

Holy Father…

I believe You. I believe the things You've said, and I remember the things You've done.

Yes, I believe You, Lord. I believe I'm Yours, I believe You're mine, and I believe there's nothing of Your Heart You will withhold and not lavish on me until I'm literally drowning in the ALL of You and the ALL of me known thoroughly and loved through and through by the ALL of You.

In the Name of Jesus, I declare these these things...

Amen.
